Editors Comments:
Part of the schooling for automotive service technician is hands-on training where students go to area dealerships and garages for internships where they will work side by side with experienced auto mechanics. Some of these internships can actually lead to full time employment for some students. The successful completion of an accredited automotive service technology course also means a much larger paycheck. Those with proper schooling can earn upwards of $55,000 a year. Those without any formal automotive service training may find it difficult to even find entry-level positions.
